Celestial Navigation Arctic Research

1
Phase 1
The objective of this first phase of study will be to identify the difficulties and challenges related to navigation, primarily focused on the Arctic polar region, by proposing alternatives in the form of celestial navigation. During this phase, certain navigation instruments and techniques will be tested to assess whether potential improvements can be applied and which are most suitable for this geographical area.
2
Phase 2
This second part of the study will focus on testing the improvements resulting from the first phase, as well as continuing similar tests and adapting them to various navigation contexts. This phase of refinement and continuous improvement will aim not only to maximize the performance of the instruments but also to help the navigator develop a methodical fluency in using them within the harshness of this polar environment.
3
Phase 3
The final phase will aim to bring the lessons learned in the previous phases to practical tests by one or more groups in the field, who will ideally have received training on the use of navigation equipment. They will be required to rely on this equipment to navigate, orient themselves, and travel in a polar environment, and will subsequently evaluate their experience and, if possible, provide additional suggestions for further improvements.

Do you find this research concept interesting? and would you like to participate? Today is your lucky day! This citizen study format has already allowed enthusiasts just like you to get hands-on, regardless of your area of expertise. Any help is welcome and appreciated to make tomorrow's navigation safer in polar regions.
